One of my favourite travel lessons is that beauty is always nearby. When we’re abroad, everything is novel, but at home, we miss all of the greatness around us.

You really don’t have to venture far for flowers. Some community gardens are teeming with them.

Anyway, this set was a long time coming. Qian and I wanted to do a cherry blossom piece way back in April, but our schedules didn’t line up until recently. Perhaps it was for the best; I’m quite fond of how these images turned out!

Our time was short, but as you can see, rather fruitful. Qian fell into her poses so effortlessly and with so much grace and softness.

She joked about only owning dresses, but clearly, there’s merit there; she really knows how to rock them — and all of her accessories, too. The whole ensemble was great, but I love those asymmetrical earrings. I had no idea those press-on nails would pop so late into the day either, but I loved that they did.

Thanks so much to Qian for doing this with me and to all of the folks who curated this beautiful space!
